This policy explains what information GoldScout™ collects and how it is used.
What we collect
- Payment and billing details. When you start a trial or subscription, Stripe collects your name, email, billing details and payment method. We receive your email, subscription status and the last four digits of your card from Stripe. We never receive your full card number. See Stripe’s privacy policy.
- Things you save in the app. Waypoints, test-pan logs, routes, your chosen map layer, theme and last searched place are stored only in your own browser (local storage). They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser data deletes them.
- Messages you send us. If you email support, we keep that conversation to help you.
Third-party map and weather services
To show map tiles, your browser requests images directly from map providers such as USGS, Esri, OpenTopoMap, OpenStreetMap, EOX and, where enabled, Google. Those providers receive your IP address and the map area being viewed, under their own privacy policies. Weather and outside-map buttons open other websites in a new tab.
Hosting
Our web host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and reliability.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use advertising trackers.
Your choices
You can ask us to access or delete the information we hold about you by emailing . Billing records may need to be kept for tax and legal reasons.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We will post any updates on this page with a new effective date.
